Student Showcase

Encouraging artists to explore new opportunities!

Performing in front of an audience can be intimidating, particularly for those experiencing it for the first time! I believe every musician should have the chance to perform in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

Students have the chance to practice in front of a small group of peers throughout the term, helping them get ready for two annual showcases.

1

Informal Performance Practice

Students begin by practicing performance skills in pairs. They learn the importance of being a good audience member while also striving to excel in their own performances. Gradually, the groups expand, incorporating games to make the performance practice enjoyable!

2

Student Showcase

Students have the opportunity to participate in a showcase held twice a year, allowing them to enhance their skills in front of a larger audience. The event concludes with a communal lunch, providing students a chance to unwind and create lasting memories together.

3

Performances and Examinations

Once students refine their skills in the showcase, they are well-prepared success in competitions, examinations, and NCEA performance modules.
