Examinations

Advanced students are able to sit graded exams if they wish, and can choose between the ABRSM, ANZCA or TCL.

Graded exams are a great way to keep students progressing past the beginner stages and provides a benchmark to establish levels between peers. They are well balanced tests which require students to be competent in scales, listening, reading and general musicianship.

I offer a variety of examination preparation tailored to each student through three different schools. Exams can be taken in person, via one-time digital recordings, or throughout the year as each piece is prepared.

Trinity College London (face to face)

TCL examinations are a top choice among students, offering a more accessible assessment designed for recreational players. The examinations mix classical, pop and jazz music. Trinity provides in-person lessons two to three times annually in each of their regions.

Australian and New Zealand Cultural Arts

ANZCA provides examinations in both classical and modern music, featuring an impressive range of pop, jazz, and blues repertoire for their modern exams that students love. They offer in-person examinations, as well as ANZCA Go!, which is available for assessment year-round.

Trinity College London (digital)

TCL provides monthly digital examinations. Just record the complete exam at the studio and submit it when you feel confident about your performance. I supply the venue, recording equipment, and cameras, making it a breeze!

Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music

ABRSM provides a thorough grounding in every facet of music. Often regarded as more demanding, this classical examination prepares students for success in university and their professional careers.
